Container transport, as a modern mainstream mode of transport, accounts for 90% of international freight. The whole process takes containers as carriers and assembles cargo into units, so as to use large-scale handling machinery and large-scale vehicles to carry out loading and unloading, handling and transportation tasks in the field of modern circulation. In container transportation, as the initial stage of the Internet of Things, RFID technology significantly improves the transparency and security in the transportation process, and then realizes the transparency, simplification and high efficiency of the entire supply chain. The gradual improvement of the Internet of Things will be of great significance to the improvement of the efficiency of container transport monitoring.
With the further acceleration of global integration and the vigorous development of international trade in the world, container transportation plays an increasingly important role in international shipping with its characteristics of high efficiency, safety and convenience. Especially as the fastest developing country in the world, port container transportation has developed rapidly in recent years. In 2008, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Shenzhen ranked second, third and fourth in world port container throughput, with annual throughput reaching 28.01 million TEU, 24.3 million TEU and 21.42 million TEU respectively. Faced with such a huge container throughput and numerous links in the international container transport process, how to achieve more efficient, safe and rapid turnover of container transport is a realistic problem faced by port-related enterprises.
At present, most domestic ports basically rely on manual transcription or semi-automation to collect container information, and the degree of informatization is generally low. Container supply chain flow management, tracking and monitoring information is in an isolated state, only 65% of the real-time accurate data; port container flow through dozens of manual collection of container number information, inefficient, unable to achieve port automation operations; port customs mainly through image processing and pattern recognition technology to identify container number, this processing method recognition rate is one. Generally, it is 80% to 95%. For customs staff, the workload is considerable.
Internet of Things (IOT) is another trillion-level industry after the Internet and mobile communication network. The most important one is RFID technology. In the concept of the Internet of Things, EPC codes stored in RFID tags are automatically collected into the central information system through wireless data communication network to realize the identification of items. It can be used in container transportation to track and trace the whole process of the container, thus solving these problems in the current container transportation very well. Through the open computer network to realize information exchange and sharing, the emergence and application development of radio frequency identification technology (RFID) can be realized. The establishment of the Internet of Things can achieve information integration with the existing network system of port and shipping enterprises, and optimize the entire logistics supply chain and circulation network. A good Internet of Things (IOT) system based on RFID application architecture can help ports achieve these goals and achieve efficient container transportation. Design and develop the port Internet of Things system technology based on RFID technology, so that the shipping merchants can timely and accurately obtain the status of container transport, and timely analysis and processing of data, in order to improve the efficiency of container transport, at the same time, further improve the comprehensive competitiveness of the port.
